St. Patrick
We keep running into this guy all over Ireland! Yep, it's St. Patrick. Here he is at the Creogh Patrick, near Westport. There is a trail all the way up the mountain where pilgrims hike up to the oratory at the top! We didn't do the hike, there was a little too much Irish sunshine for us... Photo taken by Patrick Metzger. The view downhill to the sea!

Westport - Matt Malloy's
The famous Matt Malloy's was our destination last night, hosted by Uri Kohen who is a force behind the Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival! It was a small but enthusiastic sunday evening crowd in the back yard bar at Matt Malloy's, famous for it's owner, the flute player for The Chieftains. Now for a day off on our way to the Red Room in Cookstown, and The Enler Blues Club! Heading down south to Colfers Pub on saturday!

Ardara
We were excited to explore the Donegal coast and head out to Ardara for a gig at The Beehive Bar. We had the pleasure of meeting the proprieter Pat Mcginn who is a great supporter of live music and puts on a bluegrass festival in Ardara! We played a fully acoustic show to a packed bar full of music lovers who welcomed us warmly. The music continued late into the night as we made our way around the town to check out hte various sessions, so many that we couldn't even get ar

Ballybofey
On the day after we arrived, Steve and Chris said "Only one full Irish per week!" Here we are on day three and full Irish number 3! After a great night at The Balor Theatre in Ballybofey, we are off to Ardara (emphasis on last syllable) on the Donegal coast...

Rathfriland
First show of the tour was in Rathfriland at the Bronte Music Club, a beatiful old church where they now hold concerts once a month. It was the parish of Patrick Bronte (yes, Charlotte and Emily Bronte's father) and a life sized replica of him is in the pulpit looking over your shoulder as you stand on the stage! There are a number of ghost stories that you'll hear as well, notably that of Squire Hawkins, the known practicioner of black magic who is buried in the church grave
